Prior Experience
Micaela has substantial experience representing and counseling clients in a broad range of legal matters, including labor and employment litigation and compliance, employee discipline and terminations, and workplace investigations involving allegations of discrimination, harassment and retaliation. Her experience in employment litigation includes claims brought in state and federal courts and agencies under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act (race, religion, sex, and national origin claims), Section 1981, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act.
Micaela also has substantial experience with other business-related litigation, including commercial contract disputes, securities fraud, professional malpractice, business torts, governmental regulatory issues, insolvencies and liquidations, personal injury, franchising and insurance coverage.
Micaela has represented clients through every stage of trial preparation from drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, to witness preparation, conducting depositions of expert and non-expert witnesses, and negotiating settlements. Additionally, Micaela has drafted and argued appeals before the Illinois Appellate Court and United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Micaela served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable A. Joe Fish, United States District Court, Northern District of Texas.
