Burr concentrates his practice in employment and labor law, construction litigation, commercial disputes, and municipal building violations. He represents employers and executives across Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio in the defense and resolution of employment-related claims, including wage and hour matters, union negotiations, and discrimination cases. His construction law practice includes lien enforcement, bond claims, contract drafting, and construction-related insurance audits.
Burr has successfully tried cases in federal court, including obtaining a defense verdict in an ADA discrimination matter, and prevailed on appeals before the United States Supreme Court. He has defended hundreds of employers in discrimination charges before the EEOC and various state agencies, and has obtained numerous summary judgments in federal court. He regularly advises clients on compliance matters, including the development and enforcement of employee handbooks, non-compete agreements, and employment policies.
